Abstract

Based on our previous study on one-dimensional Cahn-Hilliard equation with Gingzburg-Landau energy functional, we study the nucleation event of two dimensional stochastic Cahn-Hilliard equation with Landau-Brazovskii energy functional. Using Galerkin spectral method, we obtain the stochastic differential equations of Fourier coefficients. We devise the string method to compute the minimal energy path of nucleation events and the GAD method to locate the saddle point on the path in Fourier space. Both of these methods can be combined with the semi-implicit spectral method method and hence are very effective. Algorithms for calculating the nucleation rate are also discussed.
