Abstract

In this talk I will talk about how a study of traveling wave solution to the FitzHugh-Nagumo equations motivated the construction of an alternative model to Hudgkin-Huxley’s equations for the giant squid axon. We will also discuss how classical results for the existence of heteroclinic orbits, singular perturbation techniques can be applied to the alternative model for the existence of impulse solutions.
