By a tensor we mean a multi-dimensional array (or hypermatrix) of real numbers. Determinant and permanent are primary and important functions of n x n matrices. Hyperdeterminant is known. What is a hyperpermanent? This talk will provide a detailed account of the permanent of tensors. We will survey the definitions of permanents (i.e., 1-per, 2-per, and k-per) by means of hyperplanes as well as their properties.
