There are many fundamental and practical problems involving a wide range of length scales. The multiscale feature leads to great challenges for computation. Multiscale finite element method (MsFEM) is one of the efficient approaches to solve the multiscale problems. The construction of multiscale basis functions is the central aspect in MsFEM. To enhance the applicability and flexibility of multiscale basis functions in mixed finite element framework, we introduce a least-squares mixed generalized MsFEM. Adaptive basis enrichment strategies for the proposed method are also presented in the talk.
