Abstract

Conformal geometric method has been applied for surface registration, geometric clustering and shape analysis. By surface uniformization theorem, all shapes can be unifed into one of three canonical ones, the sphere, Euclidean plane or hyperbolic disk. This converts three dimensional geometric problems to 2D ones and improves the efficiency and accuracy. This talk covers some applications in medical imaging, such as conformal brain mapping and virtual colonoscopy.
