Topological defects are fascinating objects permeating in multiple fields. Spherical crystal provides an ideal environment to study the physics of topological defects. In this talk, I will report our recent discoveries of how topological defects could resolve geometric frustration, and harness collective dynamics. Our journey will start from the classical Thomson problem that is about the regular arrangement of interacting particles confined on sphere.
